South Korean figure skater who won the Olympic gold medal at the 2010 Vancouver Games and silver at the 2014 Sochi Games. Known as 'Queen Yuna,' she set multiple world records and is credited with popularizing figure skating in South Korea. Her 2010 Olympic free skate to Gershwin's Piano Concerto in F is considered one of the greatest performances in the sport's history. She won two World Championships (2009, 2013) and the Grand Prix Final title. After retiring, she became a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador and played a key role in South Korea's successful bid for the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics.
