Jamaican sprinter and one of the fastest women in history, with two Olympic gold medals in the 100m (2008, 2012) and five World Championship 100m titles. Growing up in the inner-city Kingston community of Waterhouse, she overcame poverty to become the first Caribbean woman to win an Olympic 100m gold. Known as the 'Pocket Rocket' for her small stature and explosive speed, she returned to world-class competition after having her son in 2017, running a personal best of 10.60 seconds at age 34. She has been a role model for working mothers and aspiring athletes across the Caribbean.
